The Tiny Tots Junior Abacus and Mental Arithmetic programme by Aloha India provided for the students of Grades 1 to 3 aims at developing the students arithmetic skills at a very young age,nurtures the inclination towards arithmetic skills,boosts creativity,sharpens speed and accuracy and enables the effective use of numeracy skills.
Assessing the young people within our school is vital to ensure their progress appropriately and meeting the set standards and benchmarks. Pupils’ work is marked and assessed on a regular basis.
We continually strive to ensure that the pupils at SNIS achieve to their fullest potential. Pupils are assessed constantly through an array of internal assessment tools that provide a holistic approach to their learning.
The Academic Year is divided into two terms. Pen-paper tests are conducted periodically along with two Summative Assessments (Term end exams) at the end of each term. With the aim of promoting and enhancing language skills, numeracy skills, 21st century skills such as application skills, creative thinking skills, analysis skills. SNIS has been conducting diagnostic approach based tests.
Ei ASSET is a skill-based assessment that evaluates students’ conceptual understanding, benchmarks the school’s performance at a microscopic as well as telescopic level and provides actionable insights through easy-to-understand reports.
Ei ASSET evaluates a student’s level of understanding by asking unfamiliar and thought-provoking questions that assess the student’s basic understanding of concepts. This prevents a system of rote learning and encourages students to understand topics in depth.
The Ei Mindspark, a personalised and adaptive Maths learning software for the students of Grades 3 to 8. Ei Mindspark is an adaptive and personalised learning software. It understands that every child is different and creates a custom learning journey based on their strengths and weaknesses. It not only accommodates these needs but also grows around them.
Thus, it creates a holistic learning experience for every student to ensure that no child gets left behind. This encourages a system of self-learning and gives students more control over their learning journey.
The guided reading programme by Stones 2 Milestones for the students of Prenursery to Grade 5 is an integral part of the English language development programme at SNIS.
This comprehensive programme comprising of reading modules, assessments to measure the student’s language skills,reading skills and comprehension skills provides access to a wide range of stories through the Freadom App.
The programme has been instrumental in instilling and developing reading habits among the young learners.
SNIS not only incorporates teamwork and instruction in the ‘soft skills’ needed in the future but also fulfills students’ learning experience by supporting them in their ability to transfer learning to performing skills, by which students can solve new problems and draw conclusions based upon previously learned principles applied through science, technology and engineering, art and mathematics. Tata Class Edge ThinkEdge Labs aims at creating an ecosystem to foster learning, creativity, and innovation in Coding, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Robotics which is aligned with CBSE Skill Subjects and NEP 2020.
The school provides exposure to the students of Grades 1 to 10 to various International Olympiads organised by Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF).
The reading skills, comprehension skills and functional grammar are assessed through International English Olympiad (IEO).
The aim of International General Knowledge Olympiad (IGKO) is to enhance the students awareness on environment, science and technology, India and the World, language, current affairs there by sharpening their life skills, and problem solving skills. Through this olympiad students demonstrate their ability to apply theoretical knowledge to solve real-world problems and think critically about complex questions.
The objective of International Maths Olympiad (IMO) is to provide a platform to the students to effectively apply their theoretical knowledge of mathematics to solve real world problems with a critical approach.
National Science Olympiad (NSO) provides a platform for the students to sharpen their scientific skills and effectively apply theoretical knowledge to solve complex problems.
These optional Olympiad examinations have enabled the teachers and students introspect and bridge the learning gaps.
